AI copy tools are everywhere. Product pages, LinkedIn posts, whitepapers. Written in seconds, polished for tone, SEO-ready.
In most sectors, that’s efficiency. In cybersecurity, it’s a risk.
Trust isn’t just a marketing word here. It’s what buyers are actually buying. And they can smell generic content from two tabs away.
The danger isn’t just weak copy. It’s misaligned expectations. A CISO reads your site, believes you understand IAM or EDR at a systems level, and later finds out your team can’t back it up. That’s not just lost trust. It’s damage.
Should you skip AI tools entirely? No. But you need a way to use them without compromising credibility.
Here’s how to keep content sharp, without losing your voice:
Keep a human in the loop. Use AI for outlines, structure, maybe a draft. But never let it handle final messaging on technical or regulatory topics. If you handle PII, encryption, or compliance, that content needs a human author.
Ground your claims. AI can’t know your product’s architecture, edge cases, or roadmap. Copying generic content without checking it against how your system actually works is misleading.
Separate marketing from product truth. Don’t let AI write feature blurbs that overpromise. If the model writes “enterprise-grade SSO,” but you’re still on Google login, you’re setting up support for failure.
Write for smart readers. Security pros don’t need fluff. If the output has more buzzwords than verbs, delete it or rewrite it from scratch.
Make sure it sounds like you. Your docs, your site, your emails—if they don’t feel written by someone real, your reader won’t care what you’re selling.
AI copy is a useful tool. But in security, it can’t replace understanding. Or trust.
Use it to move faster. Just don’t let it speak louder than you. That part still has to be earned.
